The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) was established in 2015 to oversee the largest rail infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, including the elimination of 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne. To date, 29 level crossings have been removed, 18 train stations have been rebuilt, new track has been laid, and three level crossing removals are now in construction.   • One full time, fixed term VPS PSE opportunity for up to 3 years

An exceptional opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Manager Land Planning & Environment to join the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), working on one of the largest infrastructure projects in Victoria's history.

Reporting to the Project Director, Southern Program Alliance (SPA), the Senior Manager Land Planning & Environment will be responsible for all aspects of land and planning approvals functions for the development and delivery of projects undertaken by SPA.  This includes ensuring that all the conditions of statutory planning approvals and leases are incorporated into the project's environmental management system, complied with and discharged as required.  The role also facilitates the implementation of LXRPs Urban Design Framework by the project and leads or contributes to precinct planning and statutory planning to facilitate integrated development as relevant. 

The Senior Manager Land Planning & Environment manages several teams which are responsible for delivering the planning and approvals and land and property functions, and the Voluntary Purchase Scheme if utilised for the Southern Program.

Key to your application will be your extensive knowledge of the Victorian and Commonwealth land, planning and approvals process and legislation relevant to the development and delivery of major infrastructure projects in a rail environment.  Your strong ability to lead high performing teams with a strong collaborative culture, to achieve timely and quality desired outputs, will also ensure your success in this critical role.
