Policy Analyst, Climate Change

The position of Policy Analyst, Climate Change forms a part of the Agriculture Policy branch within the Agriculture Victoria group.

Interested in climate change policy? We are looking for an energetic team player to support Agriculture Policy deliver several climate change policy projects aimed at increasing national coordination, reducing emissions and supporting adaptation in the agriculture sector.

The Policy Officer Climate Change will be responsible for research and analysis and the provision of advice to executive management and Ministers on policy, regulatory and legislative issues, particularly around climate change, facing Victoria's agricultural industries.

The successful applicant will be strong analytically and ideally have some experience in researching and developing policy recommendations for a complex group of stakeholders. You will need a solid understanding of policy concepts and an ability to prepare succinct of strategic advice. This position also requires strong organisational skills and the interpersonal skills to represent the department in forums and to build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will have strong writing skills, the ability to manage and co-ordinate projects, and excellent time management skills to ensure the timely delivery of outcomes for designated tasks and projects.  The Policy Analyst will have the ability to work well in a team environment, the capacity to negotiate and be adaptable to change given the fast-moving environment in which DJPR operates.
