Senior Communications Adviser
- Salary: $109,730 - $132,764 (Plus Superannuation)
- Fixed term: 6 months
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Senior Communications Adviser brings expertise in building culture and connecting staff with organisational purpose through high quality internal communications. They work across diverse portfolios to deliver internal, corporate, events and change communications and to contribute to effective strategies in response to emerging priorities and initiatives.
Key accountabilities include:
- Deliver high-quality internal communications, including strategy development, content production, professional writing, and reputational risk management within departmental messaging frameworks.
- Support leadership in executing a comprehensive communications strategy, ensuring effective engagement with hybrid teams across Melbourne, regional, and international offices through virtual and in-person staff engagements, presentations, and speeches.
- Implement complex internal, corporate, and change communication initiatives to enhance staff and stakeholder perceptions and experiences.
The Team
The position of Senior Communications Adviser forms a part of the Strategic Communications branch within the Corporate Services group.
The group works to build a safe, high-performing organisation where the department's people are supported to perform at their best. The group does this by providing strategic, operational and program delivery support services in creative and innovative ways.
Strategic Communications is focused on building our department's reputation and delivering on the DJSIR purpose by raising the profile of our key initiatives, investments and programs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience in internal communications and staff engagement.
- Strong project management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute internal communications strategies.
- Expertise in creating high-impact communications materials for internal and external audiences, including video, photography, livestreams, and written content.
