The positions of Financial Accountant  forms a part of the Financial Management Partnering and Reporting  Branch in Financial Management Division within Corporate Services Group.

Corporate Services actively supports Ministers and DEDJTR portfolio groups to create the conditions for sustainable economic development and employment growth. The Group works collaboratively to deliver integrated and operational functions across the department, leading the development of governance, people, culture, systems and capability. It comprises Financial Management; Ministerial and Portfolio Services; People and Workplace Services; Strategic Procurement; and Technology Services. Corporate Services deliver service excellence through collaboration with DEDJTR partners, stakeholders and clients.

The role provides financial accounting expertise and advice to ensure the integrity of DEDJTR's general ledger and timeliness and quality of DEDJTR's financial reporting products such as the annual financial statements and management reports.  The role also provides expert advice to senior management and other stakeholders in regards to the application of accounting standards and other complex accounting issues.

To be successful in this role you will have strong financial skills and demonstrated experience in financial accounting and reporting. This includes the ability to clearly articulate the financial implications of policy decisions and/or other transactions.
