Project Officer

  • $87,194 - $96,759 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term – until 30 June 2020 
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, 3000 (flexibility may be available)

The position of Project Officer forms a part of the Sport & Recreation Victoria Branch within the Creative, Sport & Visitor Economy Group. The Creative, Sport and Visitor Economy Group works to strengthen Victoria's reputation as Australia's leading cultural, sport, tourism and events destination, and ensure the best cultural and sporting experiences are accessible to everyone.

This Project Officer position will work as part of a team in managing and supporting the delivery and evaluation of sport programs and projects that focus on building an inclusive, resilient and capable community sport sector. The role will work with the sector to build on their current capacity and to identify sustainable initiatives that will increase participation within the Victorian Sport and Recreation sector through advice, consultation, and thought leadership.

The main key accountabilities for this role include:

  • Support research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.
  • Prepare high quality written material, including Ministerial correspondence and briefings, presenting well researched options and clear and concise recommendations.
  • Providing advice and guidance to others in the work area and related areas regarding processes and systems.
  • Identifying and working collaboratively to implement system improvements within unit or professional field nd improve team practices.
  • Devleop and understand stakeholder needs and applying that knowledge to consult and collaborate to achieve local objectives.
  • Undertaking more complex tasks under direction.
