Project Officer, Regional Victoria

  • $68,884 to $83,640 (plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term / 2 years
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The position of Project Officer, Regional Victoria forms a part of the Sport and Recreation Branch within Creative, Sport and Visitor Economy Group. The Creative, Sport and Visitor Economy Group works to strengthen Victoria's reputation as Australia's leading cultural, sport, racing, tourism and events destination, and ensure the best cultural and sporting experiences are accessible to everyone.

The Project Officer, Regional Victoria role supports sport and recreation staff in regional and rural Victoria, to ensure the timely administration, implementation and management of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV)'s investment in to community sport and recreation infrastructure projects, participation programs, and strategic planning initiatives.

SRV, within the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, manages several investment programs that seek to increase participation in community sport and recreation by maximising the delivery of outcomes most aligned to Victorian Government objectives and those within Active Victoria.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the Sport and Recreation Victoria Regional Team to liaise with and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local government authorities, in relation to community sport and recreation infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Support the management, implementation and monitoring of community sport and recreation infrastructure funded projects.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of Ministerial event and background briefings, correspondence, reports and information on issues relating to community infrastructure projects and issues.
  • Undertake research and analysis of project related issues, to provide information and support to regional staff and key stakeholders. 
  • Undertake a range of activities that contribute to the development of professional knowledge and understanding of community sport and recreation infrastructure, among key stakeholders in rural and regional Victoria.
