The position of Royalties Officer forms a part of the Resources, Forestry & Game Branch within the Rural & Regional Group.
The Resources, Forestry and Game Branch develops policy, programs and regulation to enable investment and generate jobs through the sustainable development of the State's earth resources, including extractives, minerals and petroleum.
The Rural and Regional Victoria Group works with local businesses and communities to build a stronger economy and better future for rural and regional Victorians. Incorporating Regional Development Victoria, Resources branch, Forestry and Game branch and the La Trobe Valley Authority, with an overarching Rural and Regional Strategy branch, the group has employees throughout the Melbourne CBD and rural and regional Victoria.
The main key accountabilities for this role include:
- Assess, collect, reconcile and record royalties, rents and other fees payable by mining, quarry and petroleum authority holders.
- Manage reporting systems for the collection, validation and auditing of royalties, rents and fee payments, including ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining secure financial records.
- Administer timely and accurate accounts receivable revenue collection, including the creation of debtors and invoices, in accordance with specified service standards and internal accounting controls.
- Analyse revenue data and prepare financial reports, briefings and correspondence, including summarising account information and trends.
