Rehabilitation Liability Assessments & Bonds Officer

The position of Rehabilitation Liability Assessments & Bond Officer forms a part of the Resources Branch within the Rural & Regional Victoria Group.

The Resources Branch develops policy, programs and regulation to enable investment and generate jobs through the sustainable development of the State's earth resources, including extractives, minerals and petroleum. 

The Rural and Regional Victoria Group works with councils, industry and businesses and primary produces to improve liveability and drive sustainable economic growth in rural and regional communities.

The main key accountabilities for this role include:

•             Develop and implement high level administrative processes and procedures to support the effective management of rehabilitation liability assessments and bonds in line with statutory requirements.

•             Coordinate correspondence for progressive reviews of rehabilitation liability assessments and bonds for earth resources sites across Victoria.

•             Under the guidance of the Senior Estimator, assist in updating and maintaining the rehabilitation liability assessment procedure and bond calculator for low complexity sites across Victoria.

•             Maintain an accurate record of rehabilitation liabilities and bond information in the Earth Resources Regulation's electronic information management system and report systems issues to the Business Quality Management System team.

•             Work proactively and collaboratively with Earth Resources Regulation's officers, the State's public land manager, private landholders and co-regulators.

•             Assist the rehabilitation liability assessments and bonds team to deliver and report on robust management of the State's contingent rehabilitation liability for site rehabilitation.
