About the role:
Our Sunshine office is seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Assistant to join their team of professional and support staff. This role will suit candidates who enjoy the day to day challenges of working within a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager you will work with a team of legal assistants to provide a wide range of legal administration support to our lawyers relating to civil, criminal and family law matters. You will also assist legal aid clients with general enquiries and work with external legal practitioners and community legal centres to ensure the needs of our clients are met. Other duties will include but are not limited to; email, diary management and bookings, maintaining client database and case management system, reception duties and general administrative duties.

About you:
You will have experience providing administrative and client services in a complex and sensitive environment with the ability to produce quality administrative work with limited direction. You will have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of work. You will have excellent team work skills, demonstrate flexibility and maintain a positive outlook in a high-pressure environment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and sound problem-solving skills with the capacity to engage people and build mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute to the promotion of our organisation's vision and values.

We help people with their legal problems by providing information, advice, education and dispute resolution assistance, with a focus on the prevention and early resolution of legal problems. We also provide legal representation to those who need it most. We employ over 800 staff in 14 offices across Victoria.
