  • $98,396 – $119,052 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term / 6 weeks to 6 months
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 1 Spring Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The position of Senior Policy Officer forms a part of Working for Victoria Group. Working for Victoria has been established to help Victorians, including people who have lost their jobs due to the economic impacts of COVID19, find work. The group is responsible for implementing the $500 million economic and job stimulus program aimed at maximising job creation in a timely manner; creation of a pipeline of jobs across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors; administering the Fund and executing grant agreements; managing the Sidekicker platform that facilitates job matching, screening and shortlisting employers and job seekers; and regular reporting to the department executive, the Minister's Offices and strategic communications groups.

Reporting to the Manager, Strategy, this position will prepare high policy analysis and assessments and undertaking stakeholder and engagement activities in assisting to deliver outcomes for all Victorians, whilst uplifting the state's economy. This role contributes to the taskforce to help deliver Working for Victoria's economic and job stimulus program aimed at maximising job creation across sectors; administering the Fund and executing grant agreements; managing the Sidekicker platform that facilitates job matching, screening and shortlisting employers and job seekers; and regular reporting to the department executive, the Minister's Offices and strategic communications groups.

The key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Provide strategic advice and prepare highly complex reports, submissions, briefing papers, correspondence for diverse stakeholders and senior decision makers.
  • Strong ability to plan and manage processes to progress through a high volume of opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and provide relevant information and advice about the Branch's direction, issues, identified risks and requirements to ensure appropriate information flow.
  • Provide advice on public sector administration, relevant whole of government policies and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with preparation and contribute to the quality of complex reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence for diverse stakeholders and senior decision makers.
