Industry Coordination and Recovery Group

The Industry Coordination and Recovery Group leads and works with our partners to enable Victorian industries and businesses to recover and thrive while operating in a COVIDSafe environment. Our goal is to ensure business and industry is COVIDSafe and active contributors to Victoria's economic recovery.

We achieve this by supporting industry, businesses and workplaces through strategy, engagement and delivery of COVIDSafe programs, to support industry and business to respond to the changing public health landscape.

Our group engages with industry through all channels, gathering intelligence and providing advice to DHHS public health teams on industry impacts. We work across government to support portfolio leads in industries for engagement and enforcement.

The Branch

The Deputy State Controller leads the coordination of engagement strategies as they relate to businesses within the remit of the Industry Engagement and Enforcement Operation (IEEO). Working as part of the Industry Coordination and Recovery Group (ICRG), the engagement arm of the IEEO is led by DJPR and works closely with the enforcement arm of the Operation led by the Department of Justice and Community Safety. The broader ICR Group engages with industry through forums, gathering intelligence and providing advice to the Chief Health Officer on industry impacts. 

The Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Aboriginal and CALD Engagement State wide, the CALD Strategic Engagement Lead will manage a small team and lead overarching CALD industry and business campaigns. Working with CALD industry groups, key partners and businesses, the CALD Strategic Engagement Lead will develop whole of community and industry campaigns to ensure diverse businesses understand their requirements and are operating in a COVIDSafe way.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:  

  • Leadership: Experience in managing high performing and diverse teams; Ability to create and lead culturally safe and supportive team environments; Demonstrated experience managing teams in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Community Engagement: Demonstrated experience in delivering strategic engagement for CALD stakeholder groups in complex environments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Understands of the dynamics and complexity in Victoria's multicultural communities including their unique challenges and opportunities, and a proven ability to engage and communicate respectfully, effectively, and with empathy across cultures; Ability to convey complex information to diverse stakeholders and communities within a rapidly changing environment; Demonstrated ability to identify stakeholder issues and opportunities and develop appropriate approaches to engagement and/or communications solutions.
  • Relationship Building: Establishes and maintains relationships with people at all levels; Promotes harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of disagreements; Forges useful partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations.
  • Teamwork: Cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of team goals, collaborates and shares information; shows consideration, concern and respect for others' feelings and ideas; accommodates and works well with the different working styles of others; encourages resolution of conflict within the group.
  • Project and Work Management: Demonstrated experience in developing engagement strategies, processes, events and tools to enable high-quality, consistent engagement results for a project, and/ or program.
