Position Details

  • Salary Range: $90,067 - $102,192 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term – 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2023
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

This position is responsible for supporting the delivery of projects funded through Sport and Recreation Victoria's community sport and recreation infrastructure investment programs.

The position works with stakeholders, predominantly Local Government Authorities to support the development and delivery of project investments by the Victorian Government. Further, these investments are underpinned by contract management tasks that require attention to detail and stakeholder engagement.

The key accountabilities for the role include:

  • Liaise with and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, in particular, Local Government Authorities in relation to community sport and recreation infrastructure and development projects.
  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks associated with the development, management and administration of funded projects to ensure the achievement of program outcomes and contract requirements. This includes but not limited to timely preparation of briefings, correspondence, reports and information for a range of projects funded through Sport and Recreation Victoria.
  • Undertake research and analysis of project related issues to provide information and support to program staff and Departmental Executive.
  • Provide strategic input and advice to programming, planning and facility design matters to support implementation of State Government policy directions and program outcomes.
  • Act as a day-to-day liaison with Local Government Authorities and sporting clubs on relevant grants and projects.
  • Represent Sport and Recreation Victoria on relevant Project Control Groups and other committees for funded projects.

The Sport, Recreation and Racing Group

Sport, Recreation and Racing (SRR) is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) and the Office of Racing.

SRV aims to create greater sport and active recreation participation opportunities for all Victorian's in order to maximise economic, social and health benefits and enhance Victoria's liveability.

This is achieved by supporting the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events and the Minister for Community Sport in the management of major sports facilities, administering grant programs that develop community facilities, strengthening the capacity of sport and recreation organisations, developing more active recreation and other innovative options to increase overall participation rates, reducing barriers to participation for specific population groups, supporting world-class sporting events and Victoria's high performance sport sector, and reinforcing the role that sport and active recreation plays in growing the Victorian economy, supporting jobs and building stronger communities.

The Office of Racing administers racing legislation, supports and implements the government's racing policy objectives and facilitates the ongoing relationship between the government and stakeholders within the racing industry. The Office of Racing supports the Minister for Racing.
