Business Analyst – Portable Long Service Benefits Projects Team

The position of Senior Policy and Legal Adviser forms a part of the Industrial Relations Victoria group.

Industrial Relations Victoria provides strategic industrial relations policy and technical advice to Government and departments with a focus on fostering a framework based on consultation, cooperation and good faith bargaining. The division engages with employers, employees and their unions to promote a positive industrial relations environment.

Reporting to the Principal Project Manager (Portable Long Service Benefits Authority Project Team) the role will have primary responsibility for the provision of high level legal and policy support for the establishment and operation of the Portable Long Service Benefits Authority.

The Authority will be established under legislation before Parliament, which implements commitments made by the Victorian Government to establish a portable long service benefits scheme for workers in the contract cleaning, security, and community services sectors.

The project will be completed in cooperation with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), which has responsibility for the community services sector.

Consulting extensively within Industrial Relations Victoria and DEDJTR the position will develop the business rules and procedures to enable the Authority to provide long service benefits, including the management of a public database, receiving payments and quarterly returns, and the undertaking of compliance activity.
