The Event Project Officer supports the broader work of the Events and Engagement team in delivering projects and promoting benefits, to contribute to the State Government’s Go Fishing Victoria plan to get more Victorians fishing, more often. About the opportunity

The Event Project Officer supports the broader work of the Events & Engagement team in delivering projects and promoting benefits, all of which contribute to the State Government's Go Fishing Victoria plan to get more Victorians fishing, more often.

Assist with, and sometimes lead, the planning, logistics, and on-the-ground delivery of events.

Provide admin & project support to projects, including reporting, budget monitoring, and tracking.

Contributel to the success of the Women in Recreational Fishing (WIRF) network by developing resources, creating social media content, organising leadership meetings, handling merchandise, working on strategy deliverables and supporting events.

About you

This role requires extensive knowledge of event management, with least 4 years event experience.

You'll enjoy the opportunity to apply your design, publishing and social media skills in creative and innovative ways.

You're an enthusiastic self-starter. You know how to confidently fix mishaps, identify improvements, and keep things moving.

You have good communication skills and will quickly develop genuine working relationships with staff and stakeholders.


This position requires you to hold a valid Driver Licence.

As well as requirements to travel, it involves some evening, weekend & overnight work. Penalty Rates are paid in accordance with the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2020.
