DJPR is seeking to appoint a highly skilled professional to be the Government relationship manager for Fed Square Pty Ltd (FSPL) and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust (MCET), and to analyse and undertake research on a range of policy issues relating to the Victorian visitor economy.

This challenging and dynamic role manages the relationship with FSPL and MCET, supports the corporate governance requirements for these entities and provides policy advice.

 The key accountabilities are:

  • Provide advice and support on the corporate governance requirements, annual reports, board appointments and performance of Fed Square Pty Ltd and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust.
  • Prepare submissions, reports and briefs on highly complex issues to Ministers and the Executive on business and industry issues, and emerging trends.
  • Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to gain cooperation, influence views and achieve business objectives, including maintaining relationships with key visitor economy entities.

As the successful candidate for the position, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance standards, policies and Government decision making processes.
  • High level interpersonal skills, consultative and communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships within and external to the organisation to influence outcomes, and to deal with senior stakeholders on confidential and commercially sensitive issues.
  • High level conceptual and analytical skills, ability to apply complex concepts to program development and translating concepts to operational activities and strong issue analysis and resolution skills.
