Administration and Project Officer

  • $68,884 - $84,640 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term to 30 June 2020 
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)

The position of Administration and Project Officer forms a part of the International Education branch within the Global Victoria group.

Study Melbourne Student Centre (SMSC) is an international student hub in Melbourne's CBD which provides information, support and referral to local services and community resources.

Reporting to the Manager, Study Melbourne Student Centre, you will provide key reception, administration and project support alongside a small team in the delivery of SMSC's support services and activities that respond to the needs of international students studying in Victoria.

Key accountabilities for the role include:

  • Provide administrative support to SMSC, including managing internal meetings, the SMSC calendar, preparing and overseeing the development content and communications and other promotional activities. Participate in the development of improvements to systems and service delivery.
  • Manage reception service at SMSC, including assessing the needs of SMSC clients and directing to appropriate services within the Centre, ensuring the centre reception is a warm, welcoming and professional space. 
  • Maintain corporate databases and complete analysis and reporting, identifying and initiating improvements to data collection.
  • Project manage, monitor and administer events and activities, such as key stakeholder events, including event planning, managing bookings and event equipment.
  • Manage resources for the SMSC and maintain financial systems in adherence with departmental policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will have well-developed written and verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. If you possess demonstrated project management skills as well as the ability to work flexibly and manage completing work requirements, then this could be the role for you.
