Trade Manager, Consumer Goods and E-Commerce
- Salary: $113,022 – $136,747 plus superannuation
- Fixed term role: until 4 January 2027
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Trade Manager, Consumer Goods and E-Commerce, is responsible for delivering Consumer Goods and E-Commerce market access, trade activities and strategic projects that support Victoria's export capability.
The role provides expert sector intelligence, supports businesses to identify international market opportunities, and contributes to the delivery of key programs that enhance Victoria's Consumer Goods and E-Commerce export performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with Global Victoria teams - including Victoria's international network - and collaborate with departmental staff, industry stakeholders and government partners.
Main Accountabilities
- Design, manage and lead multi-disciplinary projects in line with Global Victoria's principles, objectives and reporting requirements.
- Provide high-level strategic and authoritative advice on trade activities and issues that influence policy development and senior executive decision-making.
- Contribute to strategic business planning, resource allocation and the development of service delivery plans, briefs and reports for Ministers and senior executives.
- Engage with industry, government and commercial stakeholders domestically and internationally to promote Victoria's strengths and facilitate trade and investment outcomes.
The Team
This position forms part of the Trade, Global Engagement, International Education branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment Group.
The Trade Team supports Victorian businesses to access global markets. This includes leading on trade strategy, policy, insights, and improving market access for Victorian firms. The team provides support for identified priority exporters including facilitation and advice services; developing export capability; delivering a strategic program of inward and outbound missions, including conferences, expos and events and directs trade activities delivered by the Victorian government's network of 23 trade and investment offices overseas.
About You
This role is suited to someone with strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is motivated to support Victorian businesses in global markets.
You will bring extensive knowledge and experience in the Consumer Goods and E-Commerce sectors, with a demonstrated track record of delivering market access and trade outcomes.
You will also have strong project management experience, preferably in trade or international environments, including work within government procurement processes. Your high-level organisational and collaboration skills enable you to deliver outcomes in a dynamic work environment.
