Position Details

SENIOR CONTRACT MANAGER

  • $120,692 – $161,511 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Ongoing 
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: CBD (flexibility may be available)

This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the dynamic, close-knit Capital Projects team, which helps to deliver government priority precincts, investment and job creation priorities. The team represents state interests in the public private partnerships delivered within the Partnerships Victoria policy framework. The Senior Contract Manager provides high-level advice on various complex contract management issues. 

You will have responsibility for:

  • representing state interests in the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds joint venture,
  • preparing advice to senior management on commercial issues that relate to capital projects,
  • developing cabinet submissions for key strategic projects,
  • relationships between government and key stakeholders, and
  • managing assets and contracts.

The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate –

  • expertise in the management and monitoring of complex infrastructure projects, preferably within a Public Private Partnership contractual arangement;
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • proven end to end contract management experience,
  • a sound appreciation of governance matters, probity and confidentiality requirements in a government context;
  • ability to lead, influence, negotiate and deliver positive project outcomes in a complex, commercially based project environment;
  • high level analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to deal with complexity and reason through problems with limited information; and
  • excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to provide complex commercial, financial and contractual advice.

The position of Senior Contract Manager is part of the Precinct Delivery Branch in the Precincts and Suburbs Group.  The Precincts and Suburbs Group drives strategic planning for precincts, suburbs and places to create vibrant, distinct and innovative communities. We work to create more jobs for Victorians, thriving communities and sustainable growth by prioritising, sequencing, designing and delivering precinct and suburban developments.
