Salary: $100,894 - $114,476 (plus superannuation)
Tenure: Fixed term (12 months – parental leave backfill)
Usual Hours of Work: Part-time (0.8 FTE, flexibility may be available)
Usual Work Location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC (flexibility may be available)

The Role

The Projects Officer supports the operational and administrative functions of the international Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) office network. This role is responsible for coordinating a broad range of corporate and business processes including procurement, financial administration, travel coordination, contract management, and compliance activities.

The ideal candidate is motivated, adaptable, and collaborative, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and achieving outcomes. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, international office teams, and external providers to ensure efficient operations and contribute to innovative and effective service delivery.

Main Accountabilities

  • Provide specialist administrative and corporate support expertise
  • Develop and apply guidelines within the work area
  • Apply processes authoritatively and provide policy guidance
  • Convey specialist concepts and policies to stakeholders
  • Manage projects and develop recommendations within area of expertise

The Team

The position of Projects Officer forms part of the VGTI Operations branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment (ITI) group.

The ITI group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation, and increase international competitiveness. The VGTI Operations team supports a global network of 23 international offices by delivering operational and business support services that enable trade and investment activities.

About You

You bring strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes. You demonstrate sound critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, using judgement to interpret guidelines and resolve issues. You are also experienced in coordinating and delivering projects, ensuring tasks are completed on time and aligned with organisational objectives.
