  • Two Full time positions available, one ongoing and one maximum term (up to January 2024) (part time/job share applications considered)
  • Salary based on experience, range: $56,621-$73,443 plus super

About the role:
We are seeking two self-motivated administrative professionals to join our Grants and Quality Assurance program, responsible for administering the legal aid fund through grants of legal assistance. In this role, you will be the first point of contact and provide high quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders, which include practice partners, Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) lawyers, community legal centres and the Courts, as well as members of the community and legally aided clients.

As a Grant Services Officer (GSO) you will triage, process and respond to a high volume of enquiries in relation to grants of legal assistance, VLA guidelines, fees and policies, panel membership for our practice partners, training and education, and other matters. If you are assigned to our court-ordered team you will have a primary focus on the processing and managing of orders received from the courts which require VLA to provide legal assistance in certain matters such as family violence matters. The GSO role will suit candidates who enjoy the day-to-day challenges of working within a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience providing administrative and client services in a complex and sensitive environment, with the ability to produce quality administrative work with limited direction
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, you demonstrate flexibility and maintain a positive outlook in a high-pressure environment.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and sound problem-solving skills with the capacity to engage people and build mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
