  • Salary based on experience, range: $62,123 - $76,425 plus super
  • Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model


About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a keen eye for process improvement who can provide legal administrative support services. In this role, you will handle diverse administrative tasks including documenting client inquiries and providing referrals to specialists as necessary and providing information on Victoria Legal Aid's services. Additionally, you will maintain and update client database and case management systems, scheduling client appointments and assisting with financial administration tasks.

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.


About you:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Extensive knowledge as a Legal Assistant in a legal environment.
  • Demonstrated skills to provide administrative support including excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide client-focused services in a complex, confidential and sensitive environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate easily with people from many backgrounds, including clients who are often people who are socially and economically disadvantaged, people with a disability or mental illness, children, the elderly and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills to ensure that clients and other members of the public receive efficient and effective delivery of VLA services.
  • A positive and can do attitude towards helping and assisting stakeholders and clients to develop well thought out processes.
