Position Details
Senior Policy Officer
- Salary: $109,730 - $132,764 (Plus Superannuation)
- Ongoing, full-time role (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 289 Wellington Parade South, East Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Senior Policy Officer supports the delivery of the annual Victorian Skills Plan and associated products.
Working with the Manager, Skills Plan Unit, the Senior Policy Officer:
- provides high quality and authoritative policy advice and analysis to inform and deliver the Victorian Skills Plan and associated products
- leads in drafting of key sections of the Victorian Skills Plan and associated products
- prepares and presents complex reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on policy matters
- proactively collaborates and manages highly effective working relationships with stakeholders to identify and leverage opportunities towards improving the Victorian Skills Plan and associated products
- supports the stakeholder engagement activities needed to deliver the Victorian Skills Plan.
The Team
The position of Senior Policy Officer forms a part of the Analysis and Insights Branch within the Victorian Skills Authority.
The Victorian Skills Plan Team sits within this branch and delivers the annual Victorian Skills Plan that details the State's training and skills needs, and provides an evidence-based roadmap for the transformation of our skills system to meet immediate and future skills demand. The Plan is the flagship product of the VSA and a central component to the core vision of a transformed skills sector in Victoria.
About You
Good knowledge of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system in Victoria would be well regarded.
Use your demonstrated policy skills to undertake research and analysis, and prepare policy options/proposals. Your strong written communication skills will enable you to prepare complex briefs and other documentation that translate technical information into easily readable material for Senior Executives and non-technical audience.
