The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) Skills and TAFE Group seeks to appoint an Executive Director, Apprenticeships Victoria to join its team. 

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Skills and TAFE, the Executive Director will work to increase participation in, and improve, the safety, quality and innovation of apprenticeships and traineeships in Victoria. The role is responsible for strategy and reform, leading organisational culture, program and service design and delivery and complex senior stakeholder management.

Apprenticeships Victoria works across the Skills and TAFE Group, closely with the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery and with its key partners including the Victorian Skills Authority, the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority and broader government and industry, to deliver a pipeline of skilled workers for government's priority industries.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished leader with strong industry linkages, public sector experience and a proven track record of designing and delivering a significant program of work that is responsive to government priorities. A strong knowledge of the apprenticeship system is important. Experience in skills development, program and service design and delivery, complex relationship and stakeholder management, and leading a positive workplace culture are essential.
