Senior Project Officer

  • Salary: $113,022 - $136,747 (Plus superannuation)
  • Ongoing position
  • Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Officer to manage complex projects, complemented by strong organisational skills, a strategic mindset, and a track record of driving results. Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities are essential, along with a capacity to analyse challenges, manage risks, and provide sound advice underpinned by evidence. 

Main accountabilities:

  • Innovative thinking and analysis influences developments within area of responsibility.
  • Provides leadership in the adaptation and application of concepts to operational matters within local work area.
  • Contributes to strategic corporate initiatives and is responsible for implementation.
  • Focuses on understanding stakeholder issues.
  • Prepares technical reports at an advanced professional level.
  • Manages a discrete function with limited budget or staff responsibilities.

The Team

This position of Senior Project Officer forms a part of the ACFE, Pathways and Workforce branch, in the Skills and TAFE (S&T) group. Skills and TAFE (S&T) group focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations.

The ACFE, Pathways and Workforce (APW) branch brings together practical linkages between pre-accredited learning and pathways to further training and workforce. APW works as part of the skills eco-system, working closely with the branches in S&T and the Victorian Skills Authority, DJSIR, and across State and Commonwealth Governments. 

About You

  • Project Delivery: Translates strategies into programs or projects that enable achievement of outcomes required.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Delivers tangible business outcomes as a result of critically evaluating problems from multiple perspectives and delivering effective solutions. 
  • Political and Organisational Context: Uses formal and informal influencing relationships and decision-making processes; Considers priorities and interests of various groups and key individuals. 
  • Influence and Persuasion: Gains agreement to proposals and ideas; Builds support for ideas to ensure buy-in and ownership; Uses chains of indirect influence to achieve outcomes; Involves experts or other third parties to strengthen case.
