The Role

The Senior Project Officer plays a critical role in driving the successful delivery of complex projects, products, and initiatives within the TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch. You will lead critical work in property management, strategic asset planning, and enhancement of transformational infrastructure projects to strengthen Victoria's TAFE system. The ideal candidate will bring expert project management experience, complemented by a strategic mindset, strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as a proven ability to analyse challenges, manage risks, and provide sound evidence-based advice. Main Accountabilities

  • Develop project briefs and plans consistent with organisational priorities and business direction.
  • Manage the preparation of documentation, including reports and operational plans, for decision-making and compliance purposes.
  • Provide leadership in adapting project concepts to operational matters.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with stakeholders through effective communication and negotiation to ensure project success.
  • Effectively manage risks and dependencies while driving key project milestones on time and within budget.

The Team

The position of Senior Project Officer forms a part of the TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch within the Skills and TAFE group.

The TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch drives improved performance across individual TAFEs and the broader TAFE network across a suite of financial and non-financial measures. The branch has key functions, including oversight of property management, asset planning, capital delivery, financial governance, and industrial relations matters within the Victorian TAFE Network (VTN). This branch plays a vital role in ensuring the financial sustainability of individual TAFEs and the VTN, creating shared resources and platforms, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to meet industry, community, and student needs.
