Mine Rehabilitation Technical Advisor
Location: Latrobe Valley
Salary: $129,379 to $151,259 plus superannuation
Position No: 082690
Please note: Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PAA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.
The Mine Rehabilitation Technical Advisor will be responsible for a variety of projects including establishing baseline data, then monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of declared mine rehabilitation planning activities and the Regional Rehabilitation Strategy.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering, geology or hydrology, with strong industry, government and/or consulting experience in the mining sector in environmental, mine rehabilitation and closure fields
- Minimum 5 years mining / construction project-based experience
- An understanding of compliance issues from legislative, policy, risk management, strategy and systems development, stakeholder and on-ground delivery perspectives
- Strong time management skills and stakeholder liaison experience
This is an ongoing position available with a work location of Latrobe Valley and hybrid work arrangements available.
