About the role:
We have two full time roles available (part time considered):

  • Regional Manager, Bendigo (ongoing position)
  • Regional Manager, Shepparton (maximum term position up to 12 months)

We are seeking engaged and dynamic people managers to lead our dedicated team of legal and support staff servicing the Loddon-Campaspe or Goulburn regions. Reporting to the Associate Director, North, you will play a key role in the planning and delivery of legal assistance services and form part of VLA's collective leadership team.

In this role you will lead our Bendigo or Shepparton based teams to ensure the provision of high quality, responsive legal services to the community across a range of practice areas, including criminal, family, child protection and civil law. You will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, manage local stakeholder relationships, and contribute to driving systemic justice reform for VLA's clients.

About you:
You are a strategic thinker with a dedicated focus on social justice and a commitment to delivering high quality legal services. This is a vital legal leadership position and as such you will have experience in either criminal, family, child protection or civil law.

An experienced people manager, you inspire confidence, build rapport and have the ability to drive change and develop the skills and expertise of a diverse staff team. You lead in a culturally safe and inclusive way and continually strive towards improving client services through guiding and managing your people and your resources effectively. You can manage a regional office budget, staff resourcing and other regional planning as required.

Crucial to your success is your strong people management, leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills. You currently or are eligible to hold a legal practicing certificate within the state Victoria.
