Finance Systems Officer

The Role

The Finance Systems Officer is responsible for providing support for Oracle Financials Cloud system and the custom in-house developed applications integrated with the Oracle applications. The key tasks for the position are to provide support for incidents raised via the support desk, day to day management of the Oracle applications, assist with the onboarding/offboarding of staff arising from Machinery of Government changes and provisioning access to the system.

The Team

The position of Finance Systems Officer forms a part of the Finance, Investment and Procurement within Corporate Services.

The Corporate Services group delivers a range of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, strategy, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and the close out of activities related to the Commonwealth Games. These functions enable the department to operate efficiently and effectively and support the Secretary and Ministers to meet legislative obligations and responsibilities. The group actively supports the department's portfolio groups and Ministers to create the conditions for growing Victoria's prosperity, building the productive capacity of our economy, and increasing participation.

The group works to build a safe, high-performing organisation where the department's people are supported to perform at their best. The group does this by providing strategic, operational and program delivery support services in creative and innovative ways.

About You

  • Specialist qualification: Finance or Accounting degree and/or a professional qualification such as CA or CPA (or studying towards) is highly desirable. Detailed knowledge and experience in the operational and functional use of Oracle Cloud would be well regarded.
  • Organisational and planning skills: Proven ability to undertake tasks in a methodical and systematic manner to achieve desired outcomes and operate independently within timeframes to manage competing priorities and support effective workflow managements.
  • Conceptual and analytical ability: Ability to use analytical and conceptual skills to provide solutions to problems. Ability to analyse issues and identifies and proposes practical solutions to problems.
  • Relationship Building: Establishes and maintains relationships with team and people at all levels; promotes harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of disagreements; forges partnerships with people across business areas, functions and organisations; builds trust through consistent actions, values and communication; minimises surprises.
  • Communication: Confidently convey ideas and information in a clear way; understand and meet the needs of target audiences (i.e. the right information to the right people); welcomes constructive feedback; sees things from others' points of view and confirms understanding.
