The Team

The position of Manager, Financial Operations forms a part of the Financial and Property Services branch within the Corporate Services Group. The Financial and Property Services branch is responsible for ensuring that the department meets its commitments and obligations required under the Financial Management Act 1994 and providing a full range of accounts payable, accounts receivable, accommodation, facilities, fleet, travel, environment, and mail services.

The Role

The Manager, Financial Operations is responsible for leading and managing the teams responsible for delivering operational services to the department such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management and grants processing.

The key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and management of the financial operations teams, including accounts receivable, accounts payable including grants and cash management.
  • Responsible for developing new and/or review existing relevant policy and processes and drive a process improvement culture that focuses on best practice.
  • Provide authoritative advice and support to business queries across financial systems and day-to-day financial operations.
  • Contribute to and support with necessary audits and end of financial year activities and be a key participant within the Branch in the delivery of these activities.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Director, Financial Services and CFO.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience successfully leading teams ideally within a government environment. Modelling collaborative and supportive leadership in their day to day work and interactions with others along with exceptional strategic planning, organisational and people management skills are critical to this role.

This role requires strong skills across AR/AP/Cash Management and stakeholder management skills.
