The position of People & Culture Advisor forms a part of the People and Culture branch within the Corporate services group.

People and Culture is a multi-disciplinary team which operates within the Corporate Services Group of DJPR. It is a strategic, tactical and operational function, supporting the achievement of the department's objectives by providing excellent service and trusted advice. It has a clear focus on adding value to the department by supporting the Executive Board to drive DJPR's organisational culture through a range of strategies and initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior People and Culture Business Partner, the People and Culture Advisor is responsible for the provision of effective advice and guidance to the business on all People and Culture matters. The role requires someone with strong stakeholder management capability who can build their profile in the business and provide operational advice to key stakeholders through a HR Business Partnership model.

In partnership with the Senior People and Culture Business Partners, the P&C Advisor will work closely with their client groups to provide a single point of service for HR advice across the employee lifecycle.

The key accountabilities of the role are:

  • Provide support to Senior P&C Business Partners in the provision of sound expert HR advice to key stakeholders via a HR Business Partnership Model.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships and partnership with internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders.
  • Coach and support staff and managers on a broad range of complex HR issues and practices, building capability and offering solutions in accordance with relevant government policy, legislation, industrial awards and departmental policy.
  • Work collaboratively with the People and Culture branch and key corporate stakeholders drawing upon Centres of Excellence in providing integrated solutions that are fit for purpose.
  • Undertake a range of HR projects to support departmental priorities as well as business improvement initiatives to increase service levels and self service channels.
  • Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of human resources initiatives as required.
