About the role
Reporting to the Senior Conservation Project Officer – Feral Cat Eradication, this position provides practical and administrative support to the delivery of Parks Victoria's feral cat eradication activities.
Working under general supervision and within established frameworks, the role assists with operational planning, data collection, reporting and coordination tasks. Depending on program needs, the position may also participate in fieldwork such as monitoring, trap maintenance, and site inspections.
The role supports safe and consistent implementation of eradication, monitoring and reporting activities across priority landscapes. It ensures that all work follows approved procedures and contributes to measurable biodiversity outcomes by helping reduce feral cat impacts and supporting ecosystem resilience.
We're looking for someone with:
- Relevant experience or training supporting conservation, environmental, or land management activities, such as pest animal control, biodiversity monitoring, or ecological maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures and carry out routine and moderately complex operational or administrative tasks under general supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear verbal communication, including the ability to work respectfully with colleagues, contractors, Traditional Owners and community member
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a safe, inclusive and cooperative work environment
- Ability to recognise routine issues, use sound judgement to apply known solutions and seek guidance when required
