About the role
As the Engagement and Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for delivering meaningful and transparent engagement with Traditional Owners, key stakeholders, community groups, volunteers, and the broader community across the local ports of Port Phillip and Western Port and the statewide marine protected areas.
The position provides strategic input into directorate planning, communications, and operational delivery, ensuring engagement and communications activities are well-integrated, and contribute to positive environmental, cultural, and visitor outcomes.
As a people leader, the role is accountable for team performance, resource planning, capability development, and fostering a positive and high-performing culture aligned with Parks Victoria's values.
We are seeking a motivated professional who has knowledge of maritime and waterways and a highly developed understanding of engagement, partnership management and communications – you will be joining a supportive team in a progressive environment, allowing you to diversify your experience and achieve individual and organisational goals.
This role can be located at one of the following locations: Albert Park, Rosebud or Williamstown.
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in the successful delivery of strategic engagement, partnership development and communications is essential
- Strategic thinking capability, with the ability to align engagement activities with organisational objectives, policy priorities, and community outcomes.
- A tertiary qualification in communications, engagement, public policy, or related fields is mandatory
- Working knowledge of maritime assets, local port and waterways management is desirable
