About the role
The Moorings and Port Service Operations Manager ensures that port operations uphold Parks Victoria's commitment to safety, environmental protection, cultural heritage, and inclusive access to Victoria's coastal and marine environments across the local ports of Port Phillip and Western Port.
This role ensures the safe, efficient, and sustainable use of marine infrastructure, including public and private moorings, navigation aids, jetties, and associated facilities. The position leads continuous improvement in customer service delivery and governance for mooring, berths, works and associated permit administration.
As a people leader, the role is accountable for team performance, resource planning, capability development, and fostering a positive and high-performing culture aligned with Parks Victoria's values.
We are seeking a motivated professional who has in depth knowledge of maritime and waterways and a highly developed understanding of governance and commercial activities– you will be joining a supportive team in a progressive environment, allowing you to diversify your experience and achieve individual and organisational goals.
This role can be located either at Rosebud or Williamstown.
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in in operational leadership roles in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, preferably in maritime, waterway or public land management
- Strategic thinking capability, with the ability to align operational delivery with organisational objectives, policy priorities, and community outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental management, public land management, business management or related fields is desirable
- Working knowledge of maritime assets, local port and waterways management is desirable
