About the role
As the Senior Infrastructure and Assets Officer, you will provide technical and operational leadership in the delivery of infrastructure maintenance, renewal, and Tier 1 and 2 capital works programs across the Region. The role ensures that Parks Victoria's diverse network of roads, tracks, bridges, visitor sites, facilities and assets are compliant, safe, fit for purpose and maintained in accordance with approved standards and budgets.
Working closely with the Infrastructure and Assets Branch, the position plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing a portfolio of infrastructure projects typically valued up to $2 million and/or of medium complexity. It ensures all projects are delivered in line with Parks Victoria's P3M Project Management Framework, the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) and relevant legislation, procurement and safety requirements.
The Senior Infrastructure and Assets Officer provides day-to-day supervision, guidance and technical support to project staff, contractors and Area Ranger Teams engaged in asset management and infrastructure works. The role ensures work programs are properly scoped, prioritised and delivered efficiently, while maintaining environmental and cultural heritage compliance, cost control and risk management.
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in leading and delivering complex projects or programs within a public land, or infrastructure context, including managing budgets, contractors, and stakeholder relationships.
- Proven ability to apply organisational frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with governance, safety, procurement, and environmental standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide high-level advice and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Understanding of project management principles, financial, asset and contract management processes.
