The position of Senior Project Officer, Review and Evaluation forms a part of the Design and Evaluation branch within the Strategy and Priority Projects group.

The Group

The Strategy and Priority Projects (SPP) branch brings together specialist skills in economics, modelling, data and evaluation to support all groups across the department to deliver on their priorities. SPP's service offering includes strategy and policy advice, data and analytics, and policy and program evaluation.

The Unit

The Design and Evaluation branch is growing to strengthen our in-house capability to provide advice across the policy lifecycle and deliver more and higher quality program evaluations.  This will better support the Department to understand the impact of its work, including the many programs that have initiated to support economic recovery from COVID-19.  Our focus is on helping improve how the department delivers for Victorians.

The Role

Be part of a growing evaluation and design team, working together to maximise the impact of our work.  This is an opportunity to build a deep understanding of Victoria's creative industries, tourism and visitor economy, business dynamics, investment and trade, agriculture, and urban and regional economies.

As a Senior Project Officer, you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to a range of evaluations across the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions. You will provide advice, undertake project planning and deliver capacity building activities to support evaluation practice across the department.  You will work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team who are passionate about delivering quality work and driving positive change.

Strong conceptual and analytical skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Experience in evaluation and review, program and policy design, or behavioural insights would be highly regarded.
