About the role
Reporting to the Director of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Principal Advisor is responsible for providing high quality executive advice and support to the CEO of Parks Victoria in driving organisational transformation to improve operational, financial and cultural improvement.
You will be an exceptional communicator, with the ability to develop and maintain key strategic relationships, deliver reform programs and projects, and provide strategic advice aligned to Parks Victoria's strategic priorities.
This role is critical to the success of Parks Victoria, as the organisation undergoes significant transformation, getting ‘back to basics' to improve its performance in ensuring Victoria's diverse network of parks and reserves remain accessible for all visitors to enjoy, while protecting natural and cultural values.
We're looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in delivering organisational change, strategic advice and improvement programs within complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong financial and project management acumen, including experience in budget oversight and resource allocation for major initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to engage with senior staff and managers, and to build organisational capability and resilience
- Proven track record of building and maintaining trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation, including executives, project sponsors, and frontline staff
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering large-scale transformation or service improvement programs on time and within scope

About the Division
The Office of the CEO provides strategic advice, administrative and governance support to the CEO and Board. The office collaborates with the executives across the organisations, leading and supporting the delivery of Parks Victoria's strategic objectives, legislative requirements and government priorities, and manages the organization's authorising environment, building and strengthening relationships with ministerial offices across all levels of government and with external stakeholders.
