The Role

You are a critical thinker who thrives in a team environment, supporting stakeholders with policy advice or training programs on how to act with integrity. Your working knowledge of the integrity obligations for Victorian Public Sector Employees and the Child Safe Framework will contribute to engagement initiatives and policies as part of DJSIR's Integrity Framework.

Reporting to the Manager, Integrity Policy and Engagement, the Integrity Officer is responsible for supporting the Integrity Services Unit (ISU) to administer the department's Integrity Framework. This includes providing practical advice and guidance on the application of the department's Integrity Framework, Foreign Interference obligations and the Child Safe Standards, supporting staff to apply these requirements in their day-to-day work in line with departmental expectations, values and behaviours.

Main accountabilities:

  • Develops guidelines within the work area
  • Provides specialist administrative and corporate support expertise
  • Authoritative in application of processes
  • Drafts reports and recommendations by interpreting and analysing data
  • Resolves operational service delivery problems consistent with program objectives
  • Interprets and applies business plans and policies to own area of responsibility
  • Conveys specialist concepts and policies to clients, staff and stakeholder

The Team

The position of Integrity Officer forms part of Integrity Services Unit which sits within Corporate Services Group.

The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management. These functions enable the department to operate efficiently and effectively and support the Secretary and Ministers to meet legislative obligations and responsibilities whilst actively supporting the department's portfolio groups and Ministers to create the conditions for growing Victoria's prosperity, building the productive capacity of our economy, and increasing participation.  

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following main skills and experience:

  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Resolves issues through deep understanding/interpretation of existing guidelines. Analyses available information and takes action in consultation with others to resolve problems.
  • Systems Thinking: Identifies and understands the impact of particular courses of action on other parts of the organisation or more broadly. 
  • Communicate with Impact: Prepares and delivers logical and succinct artefacts using clear and concise language; Uses media appropriate to the audience presenting information to develop the understanding of the topic. 
  • Interpersonal Skills: Sees things from another's point of view and confirms understanding; Tailors communications according to audience and/or audience preference. 
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Leverages existing systems and procedures to improve outcomes, quality and efficiency of work; Encourages others to do the same.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Takes steps to add value for the client or stakeholder; Links people with other areas as appropriate; Constructively deals with stakeholder issues.
