Position Details

The Team

The position of Project Officer – Infrastructure Governance forms a part of the Office of the Commonwealth Games and Infrastructure Delivery Group. This Group is responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of the permanent infrastructure for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, and ensuring these assets leave a valuable legacy for Victoria's rural and regional communities.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Infrastructure Governance, the role of Project Officer – Infrastructure Governance is designed to assist in the coordination, development, implementation, evaluation and governance of key infrastructure projects. This includes developing project plans and meeting reporting requirements to support the achievement of organisational objectives.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Assist in the delivery of major infrastructure projects
  • Supporting in the delivery of project implementation plans, and achievement of organisational objectives
  • Providing advice and updates on progress and attending working group meetings
  • Collating advice from specialist expertise
  • Establishing and maintaining accurate records
  • Providing support and contributing to a workplace culture aligned to Departmental values

About You

With a focus on service excellence, you will work effectively with key stakeholder groups to collate advice and information on emerging issues and prepare reports, submissions and plans in support of project development and delivery in line with compliance, governance, and quality standards.

Along with this, you will have:

  • Strong demonstrated capability in understanding and delivering economic and commercial objectives
  • A demonstrated ability to facilitate whole-of-government outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience working to often competing demands and showing initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, develop networks and foster effective working relationships
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Works well with others in the pursuit of team goals
