  • Fixed-term position to 29 January 2027

The Role

We are seeking a motivated Senior Advisor to provide expert guidance to stakeholders and contribute to their growth and decision-making

The Senor Advisor is the key part of the Deputy Secretary's Office and provides a point of contact for Corporate Services Group staff, the Ministers' Offices, and other areas of the department for the provision of information.

This is an exciting opportunity for an applicant with strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and project delivery. You will need to build productive relationships, across internal and external stakeholders and have the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Main accountabilities:

  • Advice and analysis influences policy development.
  • Innovative thinking and analysis influences developments within area of responsibility.
  • Provides leadership in the adaptation and application of concepts to operational matters within local work area.
  • Manages and leads projects.
  • Models high level leadership attributes.
  • Negotiates with stakeholders and peers with the object of gaining co-operation and meeting. timelines for delivery of project, service or advice.

The Team

This position of Senior Adviser forms a part of the Office of the Deputy Secretary branch, which sits under the Corporate Services group.

The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management.

These functions enable the department to operate efficiently and effectively and support the Secretary and Ministers to meet legislative obligations and responsibilities whilst actively supporting the department's portfolio groups and Ministers to create the conditions for growing Victoria's prosperity, building the productive capacity of our economy, and increasing participation.

 About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following main skills and experience:
