  • Utilise your administrative expertise to provide support and advice to Corrections Victoria at Barwon Prison Precinct
  • An ongoing, full-time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service
  • VPS Grade 3: $79,122 - $96,073 plus superannuation.

About the Business Unit:

The Barwon Southwest Prison Precinct incorporates four custodial facilities located 6km north-west of Lara, 20km from the centre of Geelong and about 70km from Melbourne.  The four custodial facilities consist of two maximum security prisons being HM Prison Barwon and Western Plains Correctional Centre and medium security prison Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga Annex.  The BSW Prison Services Team provides both operational and administrative services to HMP Barwon, Marngoneet Correctional Centre and the Karreenga Annex. Do not use italics unless referencing an act or legislation.

About the Role:

The Video Conferencing Officer delivers high-quality support and administrative assistance to the Barwon Southwest Prison Precinct by coordinating all video conferencing and professional phone link functions across Barwon, Marngoneet and Karreenga

Some of your duties will include:

  • Undertaking administrative functions to ensure the efficient provision of all video conferencing and phone link services to Barwon, Marngoneet and Karreenga
  • Liaising directly with external stakeholders, including central VCCU, to make critical amendments to ‘on the day' schedules and communicate the changes with custodial staff at locations to ensure men are physically presented on time for appointments
  • Liaising with private legal providers in order to schedule teleconferences and phone links between the men in our care and their legal representatives.

  • Well-developed computer literacy
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Current Drivers Licence is essential.
