- Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation)
- Fixed term role for 3 years
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (flexibility may be available)
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Investment & Project Support Officer with a passion for Victoria's economic growth and delivery particularly with or for the Victorian defence, advanced air mobility, aviation or aerospace sectors.
The responsibilities of the Investment & Project Support Officer will include:
- Attract and facilitate new business investment and re-investment in the State's defence, advanced air mobility, aviation or aerospace sectors.
- Support strategies that achieve key business growth deliverables aligned with the department's precinct, sector and employment strategies.
- Establish and manage relationships, including through commercial negotiations and grant management, with senior management in the private sector.
The Team
The position of Investment & Project Support Officer forms a part of the Defence, Aviation and Aerospace branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.
The Industry, Trade and Investment (IT&I) Group's key objectives are to help Victorian businesses grow, create more job opportunities, develop key industries and be innovation leaders. The Defence, Aviation and Aerospace Branch provides whole of Victorian Government leadership and coordination on the defence and aerospace and the aviation industries to grow these sectors and capture specific strategic opportunities.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience in either defence, advanced air mobility, aviation or aerospace sectors and an understanding of investment trends and related sector opportunities
- Experience in creatively and proactively managing investments, including business development, budget and account management, lead generation, contract negotiation and project management activities.
- Demonstrated experience in providing administrative support including procurement, contract management, financial monitoring and report, grants administration, and GEMS administration
