Senior Trade Manager, Health and Life Sciences

  • Salary: $138,631 - $185,518 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term role: until 30 June 2027
  • Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Role

The Senior Trade Manager, Health and Life Sciences will be responsible for leading export initiatives and strategic engagement with the sector to secure and grow market opportunities.

The responsibilities of the Senior Trade Manager will include:

  • Leading the delivery of export services for the Health and Life Sciences sector.
  • Developing export strategies aimed at directed at improving the export capability and performance of Victoria's Health and Life Sciences sector, in conjunction with government and industry collaborators.
  • Leading a team of trade experts providing strong leadership, expertise and guidance to staff, whilst ensuring best practice administration.

The position of Senior Trade Manager, Health and Life Sciences forms a part of the Trade, Global Engagement and International Education and Migration branch within the

The Industry, Trade and Investment (ITI) group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. ITI champions Victoria as a destination of choice for trade and international investment, international education and innovation.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Significant demonstrated expertise in the Health and Life Sciences sector, including in key categories, with a track record in delivering export strategies, market access and trade outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying strategic opportunities and developing export strategies to support industry to gain access to international markets and grow exports.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a high performing, outcomes-focused team relating to trade facilitation, policy and programs.
