Manager Oracle Business Systems

  • Salary: $138,631 to $185,518 (Plus superannuation)
  • Ongoing position
  • Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)

The Role

Manager Oracle Business Systems will be responsible for functional and technical oversight, improvement and user support for the department's enterprise finance and procurement systems, Oracle Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Enterprise Data Management (EDM).

This role manages a team of functional and technical specialists that ensure that the systems remain aligned to evolving policy and business requirements, driving strategic enhancements that create business value.

Main accountabilities:

  • Manage functional and technical support for enterprise finance and procurement systems for the department's enterprise finance, planning, budgeting, procurement and chart of accounts systems — Oracle ERP, EPM, and EDM.
  • Drive systems improvements and maintain the strategic development roadmap.
  • Provide expert advice, user training and capability building.
  • Maintain governance, security and audit compliance.
  • Stakeholder engagement and change management
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with stakeholder engagement and change management at all levels.
  • Lead and develop a high performing support team, setting clear priorities, fostering service excellence and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

The Team

This position of Manager Oracle Business Systems forms a part of Information Technology and Workplace Services (IT & WS) branch, in the Corporate Services group.

The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services.

Information Technology & Workplace Services (IT & WS) branch oversees the delivery of ICT and Office Accommodation-related investments and services to DJSIR. IT&WS engages with the organisation to ensure IT and Office Accommodation systems and services are appropriately designed, governed, and delivered.

 About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following main skills and experience:

  • Specialist Expertise: Strong finance and procurement experience and knowledge of Victorian Government policies and frameworks, with the ability to assess the system impacts of policy decisions.
  • Service Management: Demonstrated experience managing functional and/or technical support for Oracle ERP and EPM finance and procurement systems, including maintenance, support, development and governance in compliance with relevant policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build productive partnerships and effectively engage senior stakeholders across business areas, balancing and reconciling complex and sometimes conflicting needs.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial, procurement and technical concepts clearly, authoritatively, and in plain English to diverse audiences.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly developed organisational and planning capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and timelines.
