Position Details
Policy Officer, Portfolio Governance
- Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation)
- Ongoing role
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Portfolio Governance team oversees governance of the department's portfolio entities including in the establishment and abolishment of entities and / or boards and Board appointments.
Main accountabilities:
- Provide comprehensive range of project planning and support services. Create project artefacts, Initiate improvements and plan own work program to achieve timelines, deadlines and standards to deliver project outcomes.
- Develop communications, briefs and presentations to ensure high quality outputs to meet the needs of the projects and stakeholder expectations.
- Triage stakeholder queries and provide advice on portfolio entity governance matters.
- Proactively resolve problems, identify trends and developments including best practice governance, regulatory and non-regulatory approaches, and emerging issues. Provide recommendations based on research and analysis of data.
The Team
The position of Policy Officer, Portfolio Governance forms a part of the Strategy, Performance and Governance branch within the Corporate Services group.
The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management.
About You
- Policy and legislation skills: Aware of, interprets and applies policies and legislation; drafts simple advice using research skills and consults with stakeholders.
- Project Management: Strong ability to plan, contribute to and manage multiple projects concurrently, to deliver key governance functions and deliver work on time and to a high standard, taking correction actions, where required.
- Planning & Organising: Excellent planning and organisational skills with a strong ability to work in an agile environment and fast paced environment to determine priorities with tight and competing deadlines.
