Business Continuity Advisor
- Salary: $113,022 - $136,747 (Plus Superannuation)
- Ongoing role
- Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)
The Role
The Business Continuity Advisor supports the development of business continuity policy, critical incident management and implementation of the relevant frameworks across the department. The position will support business continuity and critical incident coordination in collaboration with key corporate functions, and groups.
Main accountabilities:
- In consultation with the Manager Risk, Insurance and Business Continuity, support implementation of the departmental strategic agenda in relation to business continuity through a user-centred approach.
- Provide advice and recommendations for the department's development and implementation of sustainable business continuity plans, critical incident management, processes and systems.
- Enable robust stakeholder engagement through relationship building, influencing stakeholders across the DJSIR portfolio and leveraging corporate service functions to facilitate better integration of business continuity practices.
The Team
The position of Business Continuity Advisor forms a part of the Strategy Performance and Governance branch within the Corporate Services group.
The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Business continuity management technical expertise: Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and maintaining business continuity frameworks and application of relevant international standards.
- Verbal communication: Confidently conveys ideas and information in a clear and interesting way; clearly understands the target audience and the objectives of the communication; uses audience feedback to refine communication and ensure communications are understood; handles difficult and sensitive communications well.
- Interpersonal skills: Detects the underlying concerns, interests or emotions that lie behind what is being said and done; presents genuine and sincere when dealing with others; projects an objective view of another's position; uses understanding of individuals to get the best outcomes for the person and organisation.
