Senior Financial Analyst

  • Salary: $113,022 - $136,747 (Plus Superannuation)

The Role

The Senior Financial Analyst provides high-level financial expertise and analytical support across strategic and operational initiatives. As a key advisor within the Operations and Business Improvement team, this role supports decision-making through rigorous financial modelling, data analysis, and performance reporting. It contributes to the delivery of fiscally responsible, evidence-based outcomes aligned with government priorities. 

Main accountabilities:

  • Contributes to strategic business planning Interprets and applies business plans and policies in own area of responsibility and provides advice to others on implementation issues.
  • Accountable for work organisation, the allocation of resources within and the outputs required of the work area.
  • Provides specialist professional services or advice.
  • Initiates and maintains relationships with peer and senior internal and external stakeholders. 

The Team

The position of Senior Financial Analyst forms a part of the Policy and Delivery branch within Creative Victoria. The Policy and Delivery branch has 3 units, Agencies and Infrastructure, Creative Investment and Policy and Development. 

The branch brings together Creative Victoria's programs and investment in support of artists, creative workers, creative organisations, businesses, and portfolio agencies, with our work to manage and deliver world-class creative infrastructure. The branch also leads on policy and coordination across government and industry, and the development of Victoria's creative industries strategy. 

About You

The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of procurement and finance concepts to inform expenditure decisions and manage risks. Knowledge of government budget management processes and systems, and strong proficiency with Excel and financial systems (e.g. TM1, SAP, Oracle) is required for this role. 

An accounting degree, Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant qualifications would be considered favourably.
