Position Details

Senior Marketing Adviser

  • Salary: $113,022 - $136,747 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Ongoing, full-time role (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)

The Role

The Senior Marketing Adviser delivers innovative, high-quality and integrated marketing advice and activities to support the achievement of government priorities and the department's strategic objectives. 

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing – Strategy and Planning, the Senior Marketing Adviser will have the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and work successfully in collaboration with other subject matter experts in cross-functional teams, with internal clients and stakeholders, and with external suppliers. 

Main accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of portfolio-aligned integrated marketing strategies.
  • Coordinate and implement marketing guidance and advice, supporting the department's business areas (in an account management model) to deliver programs and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Manage marketing projects to support specific initiatives and to improve marketing practice and delivery more broadly, also providing support to the wider team as required e.g. to support campaign delivery during peak periods.
  • Develop and monitor processes to ensure an efficient working environment and high standard of advice and service delivery; monitoring outputs and performance of marketing activities to share results and insights, and to identify areas for improvement. 

The Team

The position of Senior Marketing Adviser forms a part of the Strategic Communications Branch within the Office of the Secretary Group. 

The Office of the Secretary provides high level advice and administrative support to the Secretary, as well as other groups across the organisation to support the department meet its objectives. 

Strategic Communications is focused on building our department's reputation and delivering on the DJSIR purpose by raising the profile of our key initiatives, investments and programs. 

About You

You will be able to demonstrate your ability to plan, manage and evaluate government marketing projects and activities to achieve the objectives of the Branch. Using your conceptual and analytical skills, including an ability to research, you will identify issues and develop solutions to collaborate with subject matter experts in a marketing environment.
