Senior Advertising Adviser

  • Salary: $113,022 to $136,747 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Ongoing role

The Role

The Senior Advertising Adviser plays a key role in the delivery of advertising activities across the department through the provision of strategic advice, managing and facilitating advertising approvals through the department's and Victorian Government's advertising approvals process.

Main accountabilities:

  • With oversight from the Manager, Marketing - Strategy and Planning, lead the development and submission of the department-wide Annual Advertising Plan.
  • Manage and coordinate the department's ongoing campaign advertising approval activity, identifying opportunities to strengthen individual campaign strategies and submissions, ensuring compliance with government advertising policies and guidelines.
  • Provide strategic advice to departmental staff on advertising policies, procedures, advertising campaign development, media-buy and developments in advertising mediums.

The Team

The position of Senior Advertising Adviser forms a part of the Strategic Communications branch within the Office of the Secretary.

The Office of the Secretary, within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR), provides high-level support to the Secretary in leading and managing the department's statutory responsibilities, strategic governance, and ministerial commitments.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and co-ordinating correspondence, briefings and submissions on confidential and sensitive issues in a swift and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex information such as strategies and plans to ensure objectives will be met by proposed activities. Offers strategic advice to stakeholders in order to resolve any issues and ensure desired outcomes are achieved. 
  • Demonstrated experience and capability in planning and prioritising work to ensure outcomes are achieved. Motivated to achieve goals beyond requirements, and experienced in identifying processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal.
