Funding Strategy Analyst

  • Salary: $116,413 - $140,849 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term role: until 13 April 2027
  • Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Role

This position is key to developing funding strategies that align with government priorities and promote equitable resource distribution. The successful candidate will have opportunities to innovate funding approaches, improve reporting, and contribute to strategic initiatives and be comfortable in leading change management processes for a range of activities across the TAFE Network.

Main accountabilities:

  • Formulates policy options and advice 
  • Develops briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for discussion and consideration and will contribute to the development of a set of final options for decision
  • Innovative thinking and analysis influences developments within area of responsibility
  • Negotiates with stakeholders and peers with the object of gaining co-operation and meeting timelines for delivery of project, service or advice 

The Team

The position of Funding Strategy Analyst forms a part of the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery within the Skills and TAFE group.

Skills and TAFE (S&T) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations. The Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD) incorporating the TAFE Strategy, Systems and Tertiary Governance branch and the TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch, plays a system leadership and management role for the Victorian TAFE Network (VTN) across Victoria.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Data Literacy: Derives value from data sets to enable immediate and/or future decision making (predictive). Has expertise in formulation of basic data models or algorithms. 
  • Policy Design and Development: Considers impact of policy to strategic plans, community needs, complementing programs and policies across the service. 
  • Strategic Planning: Thinks at the whole of system level and undertakes internal and external scanning, considering wide-ranging possibilities in developing a vision for the future.
