Director, Outdoor Recreation

The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking to appoint a Director, Outdoor Recreation to join its team. The Outdoor Recreation team develops policy, programs, and regulation to enable investment and job generation through the sustainable development of the State's hunting, fishing, and boating sectors.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Outdoor Recreation, Combat Sports and Strategic Policy, the Director, Outdoor Recreation will play a fundamental role in shaping the future of Victoria's outdoor recreation sector. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining productive relationships across the outdoor recreation sector, government and portfolio entities, and for leading a collaborative and supportive results-oriented team. 

Engaging effectively with a wide range of industry and government stakeholders, the Director provides expert advice to senior executives, Ministers and their offices on a wide range of complex and strategic policies and programs that drive positive outcomes for the outdoor recreation sector.

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior leader with knowledge and experience in the provision of strategic policy advice and delivery of government programs and initiatives.
